Online Personal Trainer
Estimated Reading time: 3 minutes.
Today I’m not going to talk about why having a personal trainer. If you put the post title in Google, probably you would have dozens of results, or even hundreds, where it would be a theoretical list of good things that this fact report to us.
Not me, I am going to talk about realities. Tangible truths that maybe do not apply equally to everyone but work for me. To give you an idea I’m 28 years old and i’m keep training for at least 15 training regularly each week. Seven years in triathlon. I never had a personal trainer until last year. In fact, I have always trained my self with some help from my father, who is cycling coach.
As every list we can start it by mentioning one of those thing that makes differences at the end of the season. Motivation. When I talk about motivation, I don’t speak about getting excited with a race (I don’t need anyone for this), I don’t speak neither of speaches or coaching to take me to another dimension. I’m talking about something so easy and so difficult like get me out of home a grey raining day to do some bike, finish that serie that, if I only think about me, I would leave at the first opportunity that I had after a hard day at the office. I take advantage of that. The simple fact of knowing there is someone on the other side of the screen reading, reviewing and commenting on each of my activities.
Then, and it not have to be in order, we could put individualized planning. A plan that fits for me and it’s done for me. Taken from all his years experimenting and contrasting results in their own flesh and those of others. As a real data, I can say that swimming the same annual volume meters (from two years to the previous one), I’ve beat my own mark in 3 minutes in 1500 (27.30 to 24.30) only changing the way to do it, in the right time, and with well distributed loads and intensities.
Although we believe that we know everything, and that everything is on the internet, everything is known today with the means at our disposal, it is not true. Good things, must be paid. And having a personal trainer it? is. On the internet we have a thousand plans for all kinds of distances, but none of those are for me. It’s perfect for that age grouper who has no family, or changing working shedule or social commitments. So for that too, to suit me, I have my personal trainer.
In my case, as we live in the same city, I have the good fortune to train physically with him once or twice a month. Needless to say, a pool session with him sometimes worth more to train all month. I learn and enjoy in disproportionate numbers. Thereby improving the technique and how to train, sometimes worth as much as going out to bite kilometers.
Furthermore, I suppose that that happen to many of us, it helps me to break my own mental barriers, those who consciously or unconsciously I have created to myself. Why I won’t be able to swim one day 6 kms? Or why I won’t be able to do in a day 250 kms bike? That sort of things that if no one pushes you to do, you stay in your comfort zone, which rarely produces improvement. That comfort zone also includes the routine. The introduction of a personal trainer has given me a remarkable change in my day to day. A change of course for the better, much better.
For these reasons and because of it, that’s for me, Anton Ruanova.
